Recent Exam Boards for Higher Education completers at SERC for 2018-19 has revealed outstanding results to date.

Recent Exam Boards for Higher Education completers at SERC for 2018-19 has revealed outstanding results to date. Three hundred and twenty (320) students have achieved their Higher Education qualification, and of these, 129 students have achieved Distinction in every unit for Higher National Diplomas or Commendation or Distinction in a Foundation Degree.

Heather Miller, Head of Quality, Excellence and Development said, “The results are outstanding for students studying Higher Education courses at SERC.   So far, 40% (129 students) have achieved Distinction in every unit in their Higher National Diplomas or Commendation or Distinction in their Foundation Degree programmes.

She continued, “The results from four courses were particularly notable.   Of those students eligible to graduate, 63% on the Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Computing; 84% on the Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Mechatronics; and 100% (11 students) on the Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Applied Medical Science programmes obtained a Commendation or Distinction.  57% of students eligible to graduate on the HNC Healthcare Practice, obtained a Distinction in every unit.

Heather added, “70% of our Higher Education students are achieving Distinction profiles in their HE programmes – a figure likely to increase following the August Supplementary Exam Boards. This clearly indicates that if you come to SERC, the level of achievement success that the programmes offer is outstanding.  It means that our students are in the best possible position to progress to those highly competitive places in nursing, engineering and bio medical programmes at university.

“On behalf of the College Management Team, I wish to say congratulations to all the students on their tremendous results and thank you to all the staff involved in all he higher-level programmes at SERC.” The students will receive an annual academic achievement letter in recognition of their success from Ken Webb, Principal and Chief Executive of SERC.

SERC will be hosting Higher Education Enrolment session from 9am to 5pm on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 August, 2019 at Bangor, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Newtownards Campuses.  Visit apply.serc.ac.uk to find out how you could be #BetterOffAtSERC
