SERC Level 2 Animal Care students took part in their mock interviews via Microsoft Teams with Tutor Diane McKay and Career's officer Ruth Annett from the Downpatrick Campus.

The interviews were due to take place on Tuesday 24th March as part of the course’s unit on Work Related Experience in the Land-Based Industries, but they were held via Microsoft Teams instead due to the Government lockdown.

Connor Dunseath, Level 2 Animal Care student, made quite the positive impression on the panel with his smart dress sense.

Ruth comments, “Increasingly in a multi-national and environmentally conscious world, online interviews are becoming standard practice so it’s an important skill to learn, and a difficult one to perfect. Our students showed how adaptable, resilient and technologically literate they are by embracing the new format and demonstrating their effectiveness, proving that they will be competitive candidates and valuable assets to their future employers.”

Diane added, “The students’ answers were not only well spoken, clear and concise but also demonstrated that they are more than capable of performing the tasks that the jobs required of them. They all did fantastic and I have no doubt they will leave a lasting positive impression in a real interview. Well done to all the students who took part, you all performed very well!”.
