Three cocktails behind text that reads Christmas at SERC- Mixology.

Over Christmas many of us will be celebrating, catching up with friends and family, and indulging in some tasty treats and beverages -  so why not try out some of the cocktails recommended by our own Level 3 Food & Beverage Service Supervision students?

Mojito

Ingredients:

  • 45ml of white Rum
  • 20ml Lime juice
  • 20ml Sugar syrup/1 tsp caster sugar
  • 60ml Soda water
  • 2-3 Diced lime wedges
  • 12 Mint leaves

Method

  1. Place mint leaves, and lime wedges into mixing glass.
  2. Add lime juice, sugar syrup, lime wedges and muddle.
  3. Pour into Highball glass.
  4. Measure White Rum and put into glass along with ice and stir.
  5. Top up with soda water.
  6. Stir well and garnish.

Garnish and Presentation

  • A generous sprig of mint or lime wheel
  • High ball glass

Cosmopolitan

Ingredients:

  • 45ml Vodka
  • 15ml Orange liqueur
  • 15ml Fresh lime juice
  • 30ml Cranberry juice

Method:

  • Add all ingredients into glass shaker
  • Add ice
  • Shake vigorously
  • Double strain into chilled cocktail glass
  • Garnish

Garnish and Presentation:

  • Orange flamed peel or Lemon Twist
  • Martini glass

Kir Royale

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp crème de cassis
  • Champagne/prosecco
  • 1 fresh or frozen blackberry

Method:

  1. Pour the crème de cassis into the bottom of a champagne flute.
  2. Top with chilled champagne and garnish with the fresh or frozen blackberry.

Garnish and Presentation:

Frozen raspberry or blackberry
