Christmas Poem 2019

(To the tune of Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree)
Runnin' around on Christmas Eve
It’s the busiest day for shops
A carrot and a cookie, children will leave
In the hope that Santa stops
Fussin' over the turkey and sprouts
The stressin’ has begun
Don’t lose sight of what it’s all about
Remember to have some fun
You will see a continental market when in town
Big wheel shining, lights are blinding
Smells combining, I’m still rhyming
Settlin’ down on Christmas Day
With friends and family
Folks reminiscin’ so vividly
Wishing holidays were here to stay
You should get a fuzzy feeling when you get
This wee poem in lieu of a card
Though it’s cheaper it’s very hard
Lyin' around on Boxing Day
That’s it for another year
Cherish moments with those you hold dear
That’s all I have to say
