Bangor Fairs

SERC welcomed students, staff, and the general public to their annual Christmas fairs event, at their Downpatrick, Newtownards, Lisburn and Bangor Campuses.

The festive fairs, which have now become an annual event, had a wide range of crafts, jewellery and culinary treats on sale, but also a bespoke touch at each campus. In Downpatrick there was range of handmade Christmas decorations, Newtownards had some wonderful upcycled furniture for sale, there was some tasty treats prepared by culinary students in Lisburn, and in Bangor there were some “Northern Ireland Slang” Christmas decorations.

Downpatrick also had a particularly unique stall, as those who attended got the chance to sit down with a fortune teller. While in Lisburn there was an opportunity to meet “Santa Paws” and the Level 2 Animal Care students who were giving some tips on pet safety at Christmas.

Deputy Head of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, Lizzie Buick said, “We host fairs throughout the academic year to give our students the chance to gain experience in creating, producing and selling their own products to fellow students, staff and members of the public. It is a great opportunity for students to develop their enterprise skills which form part of our project-based learning here at SERC.”

The students and staff would like to thank everyone who came along for their support. Check out our website events page, social and local press for future fairs through the year.
