South Eastern Regional College along with the five other Further Education Colleges in Northern Ireland are gearing up for a charity cycle in aid of Air Ambulance NI.

The cycle will take place on 17 June 2022, when staff from each of the six Colleges will cycle approximately 400 miles, in two relays, leaving from Belfast in clockwise and anti-clockwise directions, passing through 22 campuses, with the cycle ending in Enniskillen.

Each College is aiming to put together a team of 6 to 12 experienced cyclists who can cycle at 16mph, riding between their respective campuses passing a symbolic baton on to the next College. SERC’s leg of the relay will be Bangor-Newtownards-Lisburn-Ballynahinch-Downpatrick-Kilkeel.

The event also requires other volunteers to help on the day, both to help repair any of the bicycles that require fixing or maintenance, as well as qualified first aiders to be on hand.

If you are an experienced cyclist who can cycle at 16mph and are interested in taking part in the cycle, contact Claire Henderson @ chenderson@serc.ac.uk. For all other queries and to find out how you can volunteer in other ways, contact marketing@serc.ac.uk.
