SERC business students working as a team during the gutter ball challenge

The activities the students took part in focused on being a team member and being a team leader, the team building day also assisted with both their course assessments and interpersonal skills.

The day assisted students with both their course assessments and interpersonal skills as well as included activities incorporating being a team member and being a team leader.

Activities ranged from a flight crash survival scenario and coding exercises. To box exercises and a gutter ball challenge, where teams were able to explore their problem-solving skills and show the importance of working in a team. Business student Ben Hopps demonstrated his impressive running speed during the tyre challenge and fellow business student Elise Daniels was an excellent problem solver during the boxes challenge.

All students thoroughly enjoyed the day with business student Jed Mercer stating, “The gutter ball and boxes activities were fun and the plane crash exercises and first aid were educational.”

Fellow business student Robbie McIntyre echoed Jed by saying “It was a fun, informative and enjoyable day out which allowed everyone to demonstrate their teamworking skills.

Shout out to SERC students Joshua Lomami, Robbie McIntyre and Ross Greer who were deemed strong team leaders by the army personnel.

SERC lecturers Rose-Marie Ritchie and Joanne Breen were impressed by the skills the students developed throughout the various activities, and how the students worked together to solve problems and work as a team. A fun day for all which provided excellent evidence for their Team Building unit.
