Higher Education courses starting in September 2024 at South Eastern Regional College (SERC) are now open for applications.
School leavers and anyone ready for the next step after further education or A-levels can explore the new edition of the SERC Higher Education prospectus to find out more about the College and see the full list of courses available. The prospectus can be found online and downloaded.
SERC Higher Education courses are available at Bangor, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Newtownards Campuses, with the Pearson HNC in Applied Sciences also taught at SERC’s Newcastle Campus.
Heather McKee, Director of Strategic Planning, Quality and Support says that applying to SERC via the College website is straightforward and opens more doors for anyone moving on from FE or A-levels: “Prospective students apply to SERC directly and this can run alongside any UCAS application, giving those aged 18+ more options to unlock their future and achieve a higher-level qualification. SERC offers degrees, foundation degrees, HNDs, HNCs and Higher-Level Apprenticeships – across a wide range of subjects. We work with partners such as Liverpool John Moores University, The Open University, Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University, among others, to deliver respected qualifications.”
She adds, “Our focus on skills and our commitment to project-based learning supports our students to develop relevant abilities, which we know employers value. Students benefit from work placements and learn from tutors with professional experience in their field. We offer state-of-the-art facilities at SERC to support learning in a theatre, a kitchen, an engineering workshop, a computer suite, or a salon.”
A Higher Education course at SERC means the chance to study close to home and with lower annual fees than university courses.
SERC’s award-winning careers team is available to help you explore your options and can offer impartial advice on your next step in education and training.
