Applications still open for FE courses at SERC

Places are still available for FE courses at SERC, and students affected by delays and issues around exam results are urged to apply now to join the college in September. 

People who have already applied to join a course at SERC can be assured that their place is reserved until they are able to confirm their exam grades.  

Heather McKee, Director of Strategic Planning, Quality and Support at SERC, says  “It is very disappointing to face yet another problem with the exam results process, and our immediate concern is for those many hundreds of students who must now wait on their BTEC results.  

We feel desperately sorry for the students affected in a year when they have already undergone far too much disruption and hope that Pearson will act to issue revised grades within days.”

To ensure that no student is disadvantaged any further as a result of the delay in issuing results SERC has taken steps to ensure that a place is reserved for any student who has already applied for a further education or training course. In addition, the college’s application processes will remain open to allow other young people to submit applications for courses whilst they await their results.
