Animal Management HNC student, Britney Pollock has found a sense of direction through her progression to Higher Education at SERC, setting her on the ladder to achieve her career aspirations.
Britney (23) joined SERC after completing her A-Levels in 2018, enrolling on a Level 2 Applied Science Course at Bangor campus. Following this, she found her passion for a career in Animal Management whilst completing the Level 3 Animal Management course, recently securing a final grade of DDD (triple distinction) and progressing to her HNC.
Britney says: “I had heard about SERC previously from friends and seeing adverts online for courses. There was always a good buzz about the college, so I decided to apply. I recently completed my Level 3 in Animal Management, which I am now taking further into an HNC. So far, I have really enjoyed the opportunity to undertake both theory and practical based elements, which gives me a deeper understanding of the subject. All the tutors I have encountered so far have been extremely helpful, understanding and supportive in helping me achieve my best.”
She continues “I would most definitely recommend other people to pursue their education through SERC. There are so many courses to choose from and the progression to Higher Education will open many doors for me in the future. I have really enjoyed my time on the Animal Management course, and it has been fantastic in giving me so much experience which will support me going forward.”
Britney concludes “In the future, I hope to progress onto the HND Animal Management course and then possibly a PGCE, for college teaching or holistic therapy for animals. I look forward to what lies ahead, and I am grateful to the college for supporting me throughout my studies so far. SERC has been the best decision I have ever made, and I would highly encourage others to advance their skills and potential in an area they are interested in.”
