Course Overview

This course is delivered online and is designed for learners with little to no prior experience in web development. By the end of the course, learners will have created a multi-page website using WordPress on a local development server, gaining the skills to manage content, perform basic testing, and maintain functionality. Assessment is carried out through the completion of a written portfolio.

Assessment Includes:

  • Production of low-fidelity wireframes

  • Completion of user acceptance testing

  • Production of a multi-page website

You’ll Need You will need access to a laptop or computer running at least Windows 8.1 or a Mac device (Intel (x64) or M1/M2 (arm64) running at least macOS Big Sur so that you’re capable to run the required software (Please note that tablets, Chromebooks, or Unix/Linux based systems are not suitable to complete this course).

You will need internet access with a download speed of at least 5mb/s, the ability to share your screen, and a microphone due to classes being run online.

Permissions to install software on the laptop or computer.

This course will cover subject matter relating to:

  • Production of low fidelity wireframes
  • Completion of user acceptance testing
  • Production of multi-page website

Should you wish to progress to higher level qualifications SERC can support this.
