The course explores and explains processes and procedures involved with importing and exporting goods. The course is suitable for those who are new to the industry or wishing to move into logistics. The following elements are covered: Export Documents, Getting Paid, Cargo and Credit Insurance, Trade Customs & Logistics Facilitators, Methods of International Transport and Customs Procedures and Documents.

Course Overview

The course is delivered online for 1.5 hours per week for 6 weeks.

Students will have access to online learning material via the IOE Canvas platform.

Unit 1: Export Documents

Unit 2: Getting Paid

Unit 3: Cargo and Credit Insurance

Unit 4: Trade Customs & Logistics Facilitators

Unit 5: Methods of International Transport

Unit 6: Customs Procedures and Documents

New to logistics or work in a company who is importing and exporting goods.

The rules and regulations associated with the import & export of goods.

The support materials available which include webinars, podcast, interactive links and online discussion via the Canvas Platform.

The Level 3 Customs Practitioner Award or the Level 3 Certificate in International Trade.

No experience is required.

The Course is offered free of charge under Skill Up provided you meet the following criteria:

over 18 years of age;

eligible to work in Northern Ireland;

‘settled’ in Northern Ireland, and has been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years;

or is a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK.
