Computer Animation
This course will teach you the fundamentals of 3D designing and animations. Students will get to learn the Maya basics of Skinning, Lighting and Rendering, and Utility Nodes, Texturing and Texture Mapping, Adobe Photoshop Basics, Tiling and Layering Textures, Block Texturing a Non-Organic Object and Texture Distressing.
On this course students will first explore the basics of the Maya interface, including selecting and manipulating objects, organising scenes, and customising the interface. Next, learn about polygonal modelling, creating and refining meshes, sculpting, and working with NURBS surfaces. Once you understand modelling, you can learn how to create and apply materials—adding colour, texture, and reflectivity to your creations.
Topics include:
- Getting familiar with the Maya interface
- Configuring viewports and workspaces
- Selecting and manipulating objects
- Creating hierarchies and layers in scenes
- Creating polygonal models
- Modeling and refining polygonal meshes
The focus will be providing you with an understanding of the key functionality in Maya to allow you to build and animate models.
