Applications for this programme remain open all year round on a roll on /roll off basis. 

This qualification offers the opportunity for Professionals to gain an accredited qualification which recognises their excellence in a chosen vocational field. In addition, those achieving a Professional Recognition Award will be granted an appropriate, internationally recognised post nominal; LCGI, AFCGI, GCGI or MCGI.

General Entry Requirements

The general entry requirements below identify the minimum qualifications needed to apply for the programme. Other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis on application. You are required to upload a copy of your qualification certificates to show how you meet the entry requirements for the programme prior to enrolment. Applications will also require successful completion of the admissions process.

GCSE/ Level 2 Requirements
  • GCSE grade C/4 in English Language, or Level 2 Certificate in Essential Skills- Communication, or equivalent in an approved alternative qualification.
Course Entry Requirements
  • Demonstrate 6 months of experience with Line Management responsibilities and an ability to understand and practise a technical or professional activity.

OR

  • Demonstrate 1 year of experience with Team Leading responsibilities and an ability to understand and practise a technical or professional activity.

AND

  • Have current occupational currency with the ability to demonstrate achievement of a range of pre-defined personal skills and specific competencies
Accreditation of Prior Learning

Alternatively, you can provide evidence of your ability to undertake the programme by meeting the requirements for the Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process, either through Accredited Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or Accredited Prior Experiential Learning (APEL). International Students English Language Requirements
  • IELTS 6.0 (Academic) (minimum of 5.5 in all skills)
  • PTE Academic 51 (minimum of 46 in each part)
  • Or equivalent UKVI-approved English Language Test

Assessment will be carried out through a range of methods such as work-related projects, portfolios and references. Feedback will be provided continually throughout the programme.

Related Degree Programmes

There is a clear line of progression for learners to follow, from Level 4 to Level 7.

Successful candidates receive an accredited qualification, regulated and recognised by Ofqual in England & Northern Ireland.

To achieve a Professional Recognition Award the candidate must provide evidence of their competency for each standard which is assessed by an approved centre & then verified by City & Guilds experts.

Successful candidates are also granted appropriate post nominals (LCGI, AfCGI, GCGI or MCGI). A piece of evidence may be used to cover more than one of the standards. The standards can be met collectively and holistically, rather than one by one.
