SERC is delighted to offer a range of CompEx electrical safety courses. The College is the only centre within Northern Ireland to provide this industry-accredited training.

We have teamed with Forth Valley College, a leading provider of hazardous area safety training in Central Scotland, to deliver the qualifications.

CompEx courses offer skills and knowledge through qualifications which are essential for improving workplace safety and competency in hazardous environments.

CompEx Foundation (ExF)

This CompEx Training CompEx training unit developed to give a full understanding of the requirements of working safely in a potentially explosive atmosphere. It is designed specifically for electrical supervisors, contract managers and senior management, to enable a greater appreciation of CompEx core competency and the promotion of safe working.

Application Design Engineer (Ex12)

Competency certificate for professional application design engineers and project engineers who understand the risks associated with the correct design and selection of electrical installations for use in explosive atmospheres.

CompEx Responsible Person (Ex14)

The CompEx Ex14 assists responsible persons in meeting their legal obligations with regard to maintaining an asset register and implementing a practical approach to the inspection and maintenance of equipment in explosive atmospheres, utilising IEC 60079 Parts 14 & 17. The course provides the basis of best practice in this regard.
