SERC EXTRA provides the link between all the relevant parties to ensure that the student is given the appropriate support to be retained and successful on their course. Perhaps there are reasons why a student is not in college e.g. personal issues, health issues, financial issues, course choice etc. The SERC EXTRA Team will support the student and get them back on track.

Our Role:
  • Supporting all students in their learning experience & attendance
  • Improve student attendance, retention and performance levels
  • Encourage full and active participation in College courses
  • Providing assistance to increase the level of student progression
  • Keep students on track
Financial Issues
Financial Issues

During your studies with us you may have financial problems. This could be in relation to your course or at home. We can help you through your issue with our student finance officers.

Change Of Circumstances

Your living circumstances at home may change. We have close contacts with external agencies that can help.

Academic Issues
Academic Issues

If you are having problems during your course that is going to affect your studies you need to let your course co-ordinator/ tutors know. We will be able to assist you with these problems and work with your tutors to make sure your studies remain unaffected.

If you are experiencing any health related issues and you need support we would direct you to your GP, we would also give you a list of internal and external agencies which can help you deal with the issues.
