The SMSCP is broken down into three qualifications, which is linked to specific "job profiles". SERC offer Level 1 and 2 of the qualification, however everyone must complete Level 1, this has been stipulated by Siemens.
Level 1: Siemens Certified Mechatronic Systems Assistant
Level 1 focuses on troubleshooting, foreseeing problems and efficiently operating complex mechatronic systems
Level 2: Siemens Certified Mechatronics System Associate
Level 2 concentrates on repair and troubleshooting, investigation and systems management. The course cost is £2,800 (with exam and tuition included).
