SERC Fire & Security Lecturer Ross Harvey has recently been honoured at the Security Institute’s prestigious annual conference, where he had the privilege of meeting The Princess Royal,  due to his contributions to the security sector.

The Security Institute’s annual conference is an event designed to celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations who work tirelessly to advance the security sector. Ross was one such individual who was honoured at the recent ceremony, which was held at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.

On the event, Ross comments, “Meeting Her Royal Highness was an honour that I won’t soon forget. Admittedly, I was a little star-struck, but being recognised for my work within the security industry was deeply humbling. I’ve dedicated many years to raising standards and supporting both young and serving professionals, and this moment reinforced the importance of that work.

“I’d like to thank everyone within The Security Institute who made this possible, as well as my industry friends and colleagues who have supported me throughout the years. My thirst for learning has never wavered, and I remain committed to promoting Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and upskilling as key priorities within our industry,”
