South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is excited to provide a series of Gas & Oil Courses which are aimed at those looking to Upskill, Reskill & Innovate.

OFTEC Oil - 101, 105e, 600a
The course covers the regulations and standards that apply to oil fired pressure jet heating installations and installation practice.
The course is made up of both practical and multiple-choice written assessments. You will be required to attend the college two days per week over a two-week period. The cost of the course includes training, assessment, and the certification fee.

This is a refresher/update on regulations and standards that apply to oil fired pressure jet heating installations and installation practice.
For re-assessment, candidates must already hold the OFTEC qualification and need to renew it. This must be renewed very 5 years.
Duration: 2 Days
Domestic Gas - CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1
This course is targeted at gas engineers and plumbers with ACS gas qualifications (domestic only). CCN1 is required for any operative wishing to work on domestic gas installations and appliances.
Pre-requisites: Previous ACS gas qualifications or Domestic Gas MLP DNGA3 certificate.
Duration: 4 Days
LPG Changeover
LPG Changeover course is for experienced operatives who already hold either Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety (CCN1) or Core Commercial Gas Safety (COCN1) and wish to work on LPG fired appliances in permanent dwellings.
The course includes training and assessment on the following modules: CONGLP1 - LPG Changeover (including Permanent Dwellings) Pre-requisites: CCN1 and applicable gas appliances certificate

This course is aimed at experienced operatives who hold the Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) qualification and who wish to undertake commercial gas work. The CODNCO1 module is normally undertaken as part of the Commercial Changeover Gas Safety Course.
Pre-requisites: CCN1 and applicable gas appliances certificate

This is an additional Gas Installation qualification for qualified gas engineers to be competent on working on gas cookers and gas fires.
Pre-requisites: Must hold CCN1 gas qualification
Duration: 1 Day

This course is designed to allow those who are not gas engineers to understand the terminologies and requirements of taking and handling customers' enquiries in relation to Gas issues.
The course can also be adapted to allow information on Anaerobic Digestion.

The Gas Industry is a regulated area within mechanical engineering services and as such requires legally required reports to be compiled and completed on gas works. These must be audited, and the auditor must be qualified to complete them.
