Level 2 Traineeship in Beauty Therapy
Level 2 Traineeships are ideal for learners who wish to develop and practice the skills required for employment within the Beauty industry.
The Traineeship programme will allow participants to achieve a full Level 2 qualification and will comprise the following key elements:
A main vocational based qualification
Vocational skills development Transversal and digital skills
Work placement
Literacy and numeracy qualifications at Level 2 (may include GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics)
Course modules may include:
- Provide facial skin care treatment
- Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes
- Carry out waxing services
- Provide manicure services
- Provide pedicure services
- Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
- Promote additional services or products to customers
- Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
- Provide make-up services
- Fulfil salon reception duties
- Practical Beauty Project
How to provide facials, manicures, pedicures, make-up application, eye treatments and waxing. Product and service promotion in the salons to be able to survive in this competitive Industry. Specialist skills delivered by external companies such as Ear piercing, Gel nails, Dermalogica training.
Developing your wider skills: As well as providing you with the technical skills and knowledge in your chosen area, the Traineeship will help you to develop a range of transversal skills that are important for employment including: Problem solving, Teamwork, Communication, Time management, Entrepreneurship.
The practical nature of this course.
Project Based Learning will also be a key feature of Traineeships. This is a dynamic approach to learning in which you will explore real-world problems and challenges that have been developed with employers.
The modern beauty salons of Shadeka, De Courcey and Revive that are open to the public and offers excellent work placement for you.
Visits to the Beauty Show in Dublin.
to be over 16 years of age and working towards:
- minimum GCSE grade D in English*
- minimum GCSE grade D in Mathematics*
- and two other GCSEs grade F or above or equivalent qualification level*

Applicants that have not obtained the above grades may be eligible to enrol as an Introductory Trainee. Please contact us for further information.
There will be two weeks Induction when the course commences in September.
There will be an interview and skills test for this course
Learners will have to purchase their own uniform and kit. Lecturers will give you details of this.
