In recognition of Bike week why not take part in the virtual bike week challenge with your family and friends and be inspired by some exciting challenges and routes? You can do it for 7 days in a row, starting on the 30 May 2021, or for as many days as you can, and there is a chance to win some great prizes click here to view. To take part in the 7 days of cycling all you need to do is log your ride on the Bike Week website click here. There is also a free Bike Week resource pack for families Fun for Families | Cycling UK which is filled with indoor and outdoor activities you can do as a family – from cooking to colouring to bike challenges.
SERC’s also running a PLEDGE to get involved in their very own “Bike Ride”
In addition to the Bike Week challenge SERC is also looking all staff, students and family “to pledge” to head out on their bikes between 30 May to 5 June 2021. It’s not about distance or duration, it’s about giving it a go and raising awareness of cycling. Any kind of cycle counts, no matter how far you go. The more people who take part, the more impact it will have and it’s an opportunity for families, including children of all ages, to get involved. Sustrans will be supporting the event with SERC.
All we are asking for is for you to complete the Pledge form by clicking here (for children, this should be submitted by their guardians) and indicate the number of days you got out on your bike. The form must be submitted no later than Tuesday 8 June 2021 for the opportunity to be entered into a draw.
You can also send us photos of yourselves while out on your bike and these can be submitted to us to make a collage for bike week by emailing mindyourself@serc.ac.uk
Please note, photos will not used unless a signed consent form is also completed.
Entry into SERC draw
By submitting your form you will be entered into a draw and there will be an adult prize with the choice from a Decathlon Voucher, Secure D lock cable or a re-chargeable bike light and children’s prizes with a choice of Decathlon vouchers or bike accesssory.
With the beautiful weather predicted for this bank holiday weekend, why not take the pledge to get on your bike and get active to improve your health and wellbeing
