SERC concluded a successful Innovative Digital Education & Skills (IDEAS) initiative, a project that was delivered with the main focus and priority of helping develop a high performing digital education system.

SERC led the two year project which also featured Forth Valley College - Scotland, Aberta University - Portugal, Copenhagen Business Academy - Denmark and B&P Emtech Lab - Malta. IDEAS was underpinned by the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators.

Participation in the IDEAS project offered an opportunity for partners to upskill teachers, improve their digital competence and skills and develop the organisation's capacity by facilitating innovative learning experiences which will ultimately positively impact learners.

The partners developed a free digital skills teacher training course containing 14 bite-sized modules and related teaching materials to support the teachers' CPD, personalised to their individual needs through the use of adaptive learning technology. Access the learning platform here.

Elaine McKeown, Senior International Development Manager at SERC, said: “It has been an absolute privilege to work with these partners who have been fully committed throughout the lifetime of the project. I believe that we have created a quality teacher training course that will help improve teacher digital skills and competences far beyond the reach of this project.”
