Put it in Your Phone Day

08 October 2019

As we have done in recent years, we plan to mark World Mental Health Day on Thursday 10th October by asking you to help ensure that all of our students have the following contact numbers in their mobile phones. Please explain to your students /  trainees that through these numbers there is always someone that that they can talk to, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

  • Inspire Students 0800 389 5362
  • Lifeline  0808 808 8000

While most students will probably believe that they will never need these, do empathise that having these numbers is a useful precaution in case someday they, or one of their family or friends may need to contact one of these organisations.

As we did last year there a short you-tube video that explains 5  steps that we can all take to improve and strengthen our mental health and wellbeing. This video is an animation of the 5-Steps to Wellbeing posters that are on display in almost every room across the College. If you could show the video to your classes, we feel it would reinforce the message that we all need to take steps to look after our mental health.

This link (Put it in your Phone Day) will bring you to the presentation that you can display in your classroom, it has 2 slides; the first being the relevant numbers and the second the link to the video.

If your classes are on placement or are not timetabled on Thursday, please do take a suitable opportunity at some time during the week to do get them to put these numbers into their phones.

Once again, on behalf of our students thank you for your ongoing help and care.
