Lean Thinking

Taking place in Bangor on 30 November, this in-person information session will cover the basics of Lean Thinking and how it can be implemented in your day-to-day activities. The aim of Lean Thinking is to create a lean culture, one that sustains growth by aligning customer satisfaction with employee satisfaction and offers innovative products or services profitably while minimizing unnecessary over-costs to customers, suppliers and the environment.

Attendees of this event will discuss and identify wastes in their current practice and consider how their end-to-end practice can be perceived as a process. This session will be of particular interest to those who have (or are considering) a retail element to their practice/business. The session will also include a live simulation of how Lean Thinking can help you through active learning.

Waste in an organization is all around us. You want to be able to identify waste so that you can go about eliminating it where you can. The 8 Wastes of Lean exist in every organization and are all around you. You likely walk by it every day and can become desensitized to its existence. Waste can create a frustrating and unsafe work environment. While it’s not always easy or possible to eliminate all waste, it is simple enough for you and your organization to evaluate the things you do and identify and define the various types of waste.
