On Tuesday 19th November 2024, International Men's Day celebrates worldwide the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. The theme for 2024 is “Positive Male Role Models.” 

Objectives of International Men’s Day:

  • Highlight positive male role models by showcasing men who lead by example in their personal and professional lives 
  • Recognise the contributions of men to society, community, family, and childcare 
  • Raise awareness about men’s health issues and encourage healthier lifestyles 
  • Address issues that specifically affect men and boys and promote positive expressions of masculinity

Men’s Health Monday 18th November 2024 at 12.00 to 13.00 to 1 pm

Prostate Cancer Information Session  Tuesday 19 November 10.00 to 10.30 

Prostate Cancer will be holding an information session on MS Teams to raise awareness of prostate cancer and the importance of early detection, discussing the signs and symptoms to look out for and the importance of frequent PSA testing.  Phil Ormesher will deliver the session and will discuss his own personal experience, and he is encouraging staff of all ages to attend.

Mental Health and Wellbeing  Tuesday 26 November 12.30 to 1300

Luke Ambler, founder of Andy's Man Club is offering a webinar in collaboration with occupational health provider Latus via MS teams. Luke Ambler, formerly a former professional rugby player, is a dad, storyteller, entrepreneur, award-winning mental health campaigner, and motivational speaker.  

When his brother-in-law, Andy, tragically took his own life, Luke wanted to create something in his memory, so Andy's Man Club was set up to help others who were struggling. Please note the webinar may contain discussions on suicide.
