CITB NI Launch New Bursary Award For Built Environment Students

Construction Industry Training Board NI (CITB NI) has launched a new bursary award aimed at encouraging school leavers to consider a career in construction and undertake a third level Built Environment related qualification. Applications are now open for 12 first year, full time students to apply for a £1000 bursary towards the cost of their training.
To qualify applicants must have applied to study a third level Built Environment related qualification at Level 4 or above with a Northern Ireland training provider. Then, following the completion of an application form, applicants will be entered into a draw for one of the 12 bursary awards.
From the design, construction and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure projects such as bridges, roads, tunnels, waterways - a career in Built Environment provides varied and wide-ranging opportunities which are challenging, exciting and rewarding. Increasingly, new emerging digital technologies are rapidly changing the Built Environment landscape. Companies are actively seeking to recruit people with skills including Building Information Modelling, Drones, Augmented Reality/ Virtual Reality, Computer Aided Design (CAD).
A career in construction also offers a variety of careers including skilled trades, IT, marketing, project management, design and much more.
Launching the new Built Environment Bursary Award, CITB NI Chief Executive, Barry Neilson said:
“CITB NI is delighted to launch the new Built Environment Bursary Award for third level students. Applications are now open with 12 awards of £1,000 towards training costs available. This is fantastic support for first year students about to embark on their built environment qualification. The process is simple.
