Why Study This Course

You’ll love the hands-on, step-by-step approach as you design and develop your own characters, starting with first-person to third-person perspectives, complete with custom animations. To top it off, you’ll create an AR app featuring your character, ready to run on Android.

Course Overview

This course is designed to teach young aspiring game developers how to create 3D games using the Unity game engine, used by developers to create games like Beat Saber, Pokémon Go, Super Mario Run, and so much more.

Throughout this course, you’ll learn the key techniques to design, build, and bring characters to life. From navigating the Unity engine to creating immersive experiences, you’ll gain skills that let you turn your imagination into reality and see your work come alive on PC.


There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but it is recommended that you have a good understanding of how to use a computer.

This course is designed for teens, typically between 13 and 17. Those older may be interested in our Introduction to Games Development course.

In this six-week introductory course, you will learn the essential tips and trick for bringing your ideas to life. Topics may include:

  • Exploring the Unity Editor
  • Introduction to 3D Games – Creating a Player Character
    • First-Person Shooter Character Development Basics
    • Third-Person Character Development with Animations
  • Introduction to Augmented Reality (AR)
AR App Development – Creating a Character with Animations and Sound for Android

By the end of this course, you’ll have built a solid foundation in game development and character creation, opening the door to advanced opportunities in design and development. Whether it’s for fun or as the start of a career in gaming, this course will set you on the path to success.
