Why Study This Course

This qualification will enable you to gain the skills, knowledge and understanding required to perform fashion and photographic make-up treatments. You will develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to perform professional make-up treatments for clients via employment or self employment in the beauty therapy industry. This qualification is most suited to those who wish to advance in their profession.

Units may include:

  • The study of skincare
  • The study of products used
  • Bridal make-up
  • Period make-up - e.g. 1950's - eyeline/eyebrow, 1960's Twiggy style
  • Use of false eyelashes
  • Make-up catwalk and commercials
  • Health, Safety & Hygiene

Entry onto the course requires an interview.

You will also be required to have one of the following:

Level 1 Basic Make-up

Level 2 Beauty Therapy

A certificate from a private make-up school may be acceptable - lecturer will confirm.  

You will be required to pay for your own uniform, approximately £50 and kit, approximately £150. 

You have a strong sense of creativity and artistic flair which is essential for success in the world of fashion and photographic make-up. You should be able to think outside the box and demonstrate a keen eye for aesthetics. Precision and attention to detail are critical, the ability to communicate effectively with clients, photographers, and other members of a creative team is crucial. Additionally, having some prior experience in make-up application or related fields is essential.

Proficiency in the technical aspects of make-up application, including knowledge of different products, tools, and techniques. How to build a strong port-folio of relevant work to increase your clientele.

 We provide a number of full-time courses within Beauty Therapy or why not freelance with your speciality.
