Hands-on Experience

The apprenticeship provides practical, on-the-job training, allowing students to work with real vehicles, equipment, and tools. This hands-on experience is essential for developing the skills and confidence needed to excel in the industry.

The course equips students with the technical skills required to service, repair, and maintain light vehicles, including engines, transmissions, suspension, braking systems, and electrical components. These skills are highly sought after by employers in the automotive sector.

Career Advancement Opportunities

With a Level 3 qualification, you can progress in the automotive industry, potentially moving into more senior roles such as a vehicle technician, diagnostic technician, or workshop manager. It also opens doors to specialized areas, including electric vehicle (EV) maintenance or MOT testing.

Students will attend college for 1 day (7 hours) per week, with the remainder of their time being being spent with their employer.

You will need to be employed with an organisation which pays your wages and has given you a contract of employment.  You will develop your skills in the workplace which will give you an edge when looking for progression in employment and your career.
