Level 2 Traineeship in Music
Level 2 Traineeships are ideal for young learners who wish to develop and practice the skills required for employment within the music industry
The Traineeship programme will allow participants to achieve a full Level 2 qualification and will comprise the following key elements:
A main vocational based qualification, which is the BTEC L2 Diploma in Music Industry Skills, a highly practical, portfolio based vocational qualification.
Transversal and digital skills
Work placement
Literacy and numeracy qualifications at Level 2 (may include GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics)
to be over 16 years of age, successful outcome at audition/interview and working towards:
- minimum GCSE grade E in English
- minimum GCSE grade E in Mathematics
- and two other GCSEs grade F or above or equivalent qualification level

Applicants that have not obtained the above grades may be eligible to enrol as an Introductory Trainee. Please contact us for further information.
There will be two weeks Induction when the course commences in September.
There will be an interview and skills test for this course
Learners may need to provide their own instruments. Lecturers will give you details of this.

Developing your wider skills: As well as providing you with the technical skills and knowledge in your chosen area, the Traineeship will help you to develop a range of transversal skills that are important for employment including: Problem solving, Teamwork, Communication, Time management, Entrepreneurship.
The opportunity to build a portfolio of work throughout the year - supporting you to progress to employment, an apprenticeship or further study in the music sector.
Enhanced self-promotion skills – so you can gain the skills and confidence you will need to showcase your achievements.
The highly practical nature of this course – because learning is doing!
Project Based Learning - a dynamic approach to learning in which you will explore real-world problems and challenges that have been developed with employers.
