Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Music Technology
This course has been designed as a full time two year programme. In the first year of the programme you will complete the BTEC 90 credit Diploma in Music Technology. On successful completion of this first year you will ‘top-up’ by studying for additional units which will give you the full Extended Technical Diploma. Equivalent to 3 A levels.
This 2-year course is designed to prepare you for a career within the sound/music industry giving you an up-to-date skill-set using the latest music technologies.
It focuses on a practical & creative approach to learning key industry related skills, e.g. studio recording & production, concert staging & live sound engineering, electronic music production & performance.
Practical workshops delivered by specialist tutors creatively explore a range of new technologies:
Pro Tools, Reason, Ableton, Reaktor, AudioMulch, Avid S6, Focusrite RedNet, Avid S3L & Venue, Yamaha LS9.

You will also work towards a Personal Development qualification and will be involved in a range of activities, designed to improve employability.
Entry requirements include the following:
BTEC Level 2 Diploma in music, or, 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above. Maths, English and ICT at Grade C or above, or equivalent Essentials Skills.
You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Numeracy, Literacy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C.
Music technology experience would also be beneficial.
Successful completion at interview.
The interview process will involve an interview and a written test. The outcomes of which, along with the required grades, will determine your entry to this programme.
