The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services is a job ready qualification based on National Occupational Standards (NOS). This qualification will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to work competently as an advanced practitioner in the Nail industry. Throughout this qualification you will monitor procedures to safely control work operations, and enhance and maintain nails using UV gel, wraps, liquid and powder.

Course Overview
This qualification will develop the knowledge and skills to prepare learners for employment as an advanced Nail technician.
Learners will have their nail services skills assessed in a real working environment, which includes the application and maintenance of all nail enhancement overlays, advanced nail art services, sculpting techniques and electric file application
This qualification is available on a full time or part time basis.
Units will include
- Monitor procedures to safely control work operations
- Enhance and maintain nails using UV gel
- Enhance and maintain nails using liquid and powder
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities
- Develop a range of creative nail images
- Plan and create nail art designs
- Prepare and finish nail overlays using electric files
- Enhance and maintain nails using wraps

You'll Progress:
This is an approved qualification for working as a senior nail technician.
It also provides a sound platform for further learning or training. Progression opportunities exist in the form of specialist VTCT vocationally related qualifications in management or other skills.

Opportunities exist in a variety of contexts as an advanced nail technician, including:
- Commercial nail salon
- Retail concession 'nail bar'
- Independent/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings
You'll Need:
Level 2 Diploma in Nail Services or equivalent
The full-time course will be timetabled over 21 hours per week ie - 15 hours of vocational classes, 3 hours per week employability training and 3 hours per week Essential skills English and Maths if required. Full time students who do not have at least a grade C in Maths, English and ICT will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT.
Students will be required to provide their own materials and equipment eg kit and uniform. There will be an extra cost for these which will be discussed with you by the tutor.
This course will require an interview and skills test.
