Course Overview
A structured three-day classroom and workshop programme of guided learning designed to meet the requirements for learners who are or will be installing Solar Photo Voltaic Systems.

Assessment is carried via practical observed assignment along with one on-line assessment consisting of multiple choice and multiple response questions. The assessments are open book and use the applicable standards and regulations.

You are currently an MCS installer, or electrician who is considering embarking on Solar Photo Voltaic Installation works.

The installation requirements, of the Photo Voltaic panels required and component parts of the PV systems.

Learning about the new technologies associated with Photo Voltaic Systems.

You could progress and have other qualification opportunities for example in Electrical Energy Storage Systems, Electric Vehicle Charging and the Level 5 OCN NI Green Technologies or OCN NI Level 5 Retrofitting of Domestic Properties.

  • To hold A Level 3 Electrotechnical N/SVQ qualification or equivalent 

plus

  • A current Level 3 qualification in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018.

plus

  • A Level 3 qualification in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations,

or

  • Be a member of recognised competent persons scheme (CPS) as a Qualified Supervisor having met the requirements of the electrotechnical assessment specification (EAS).
