Course Overview
This new PT course runs for 5 hours, 1 day a week.  It will cover all aspects of printmaking and mixed media from exploring printmaking and mixed media artists and developing design ideas to producing outcomes. You will explore a range of printmaking and mixed media techniques and processes including screen printing, collagraph, collage, texture making, embossment, relief and intaglio. It will encourage you to explore a range of alternative ideas and developments for your 2D work through practical hands-on experience, with the aim of developing a solid knowledge and understanding of printmaking and mixed media processes and techniques.

Ideal If:
You have enjoyed working with printmaking and/or mixed media as a hobby or a leisure activity and want to further develop and expand your knowledge of printmaking and mixed media techniques.

You'll Learn:
To explore a range of printmaking and mixed media artists that will in turn influence you own ideas and practice. To investigate and develop skills in both printmaking and mixed media. To incorporate a range of tools and equipment specific to printmaking and mixed media techniques and processes. To understand the processes and characteristics of materials and techniques required to produce printmaking and mixed media work.

You'll Love:
The practical hands-on approach to the subject.  The relaxed, but supportive atmosphere of the printmaking studio. The opportunity to develop your own 2D visual language through the development and production of personal 2D work incorporating a variety of processes and techniques. The opportunity to explore, e.g.  layers, textures, colour, and pattern; to create a range of samples appropriate to your work.

You'll Progress:
A solid body of work produced will help create a portfolio that can be used to progress onto further education courses. It will give you the confidence, ability and skill set to create and produce a range of work that could be used as a commercial enterprise.

You'll Need:
A passion for 2d Printmaking and Mixed Media. A desire to create and develop a visual language using printmaking and mixed media materials, techniques and processes. A willingness to push the boundaries of your 2D knowledge and an eagerness to try out new techniques and processes.
