Course Overview
You will develop the practical skills and knowledge essential to employment within the engineering industry. You will achieve all the Level 2 outcomes required to match the occupational framework.
 
Subjects studied will include:
 
• Health and safety
• Electrical systems
• Basic electrical inspection
• Testing and fault diagnosis
 
You will also have the opportunity to participate in the Young Enterprise NI programme which will develop your employability skills and help you explore the idea of starting your own business.
 
 
 
Entry Requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE's grades D-G, inclusive of grade D in Maths and English.

You must be 16 by the end of June but no older than 18.

You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C or Level 2 Essential Skills in English, Maths or IT.

Where will it take me?

The Skills for Work course will provide you with relevant training in Electrical Installation that can lead directly to an NVQ Level 3 qualification and a career within the Electrical industry.

If you secure employment during the programme you can move directly into the Apprenticeship at level 2.

How will it make me more employable?
This course can give you qualifications which will improve your job opportunities. You will complete modules in Employability and Personal Development.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
You will be assessed though practical and theoretical tests.
