Dementia Awareness

Our 3 hour interactive training session is based on developing learners understanding of what dementia is, how to recognise the signs and symptoms and increase their understanding of how to care for the person with dementia. There are over 850, 000 people in the UK living with dementia today, meaning that it is a condition that will impact all of our lives, whether professionally or privately. Our programme incorporates the recommendations of “Improving Dementia Services in Northern Ireland – A Regional Strategy” HSSPS Nov 2011 and the “Irish National Dementia Strategy” DOH Dec 14 which draws on best practice here and elsewhere, makes recommendations aimed at improving the services and support arrangements currently available for people with dementia, their families, and their carers.
