Active IQ Level 2 Certificate In Fitness Instructing
This course is offered two evenings per week for 15 weeks. There may also be a two week Intensive course run at different stages of the year.
You will gain a vocationally related qualification (VRQ), at Level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework.
This Qualification allows access on to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REP) at Level 2.
Modules may include:
Unit 1 Anatomy and physiology for exercise (H/600/9013) – 6 credits
Unit 2 Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity (M/600/9015) – 2 credits
Unit 3 Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment (T/600/9016) – 2 credits
Unit 4 Principles of exercise, fitness and health (A/600/9017) – 4 credits
Unit 5 - Planning gym-based exercise (F/600/9018) 4 credits
Unit 6 Instructing gym-based exercise (A/600/9020) – 6 credits

Ulster University Foundation Degree in Sports Science, Coaching and Fitness
The Foundation Degree in Sport Exercise and Fitness aims to ensure that the evolving needs of the sporting sector are met, including professional and volunteer coaches, managers, leaders, trainers, instructors and teachers.
Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport
This course is intended to be an Applied General qualification for post-16 learners wanting to continue their education through applied learning, and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment, in the sports sector.
Level 2 Technical Diploma in Sport
This course provides the student with a good introduction to the wide and varied aspects of Sport.
