This regulated QCF qualification is for learners that wish to demonstrate their knowledge in the Installation and Maintenance of Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems.

This regulated QCF qualification is for learners that wish to demonstrate their knowledge in the Installation and Maintenance of Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems.
 
Some topics covered are:
  • Know the health and safety risks and safe systems of work associated with solar thermal hot water system installation work
  • Know the requirements of relevant regulations/standards relating to practical installation, testing and commissioning activities for solar thermal hot water system installation work
  • Know the types and layouts of solar thermal hot water system
  • Know the purpose of components used within solar thermal hot water system installations
  • Know the types and key operating principles of solar collectors
     
Entry Requirements
NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence.
Where will it take me?
This course can lead to further courses such as domestic heating, Legionella prevention etc.

This course is specialised using Solar and renewable energies which are more and more sought after by employers in todays industry.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
Assessment will be through work performance activities and short response written assessment.
