Course Overview
This is a Level 1 Training for Success programme which can last up to 2 years (104 weeks) and is run in conjunction with Level 1 vocational programmes in the following vocational areas:
 
  • Catering
  • Construction Skills
  • Hairdressing
  • Retail

You will study for City & Guilds qualifications in Employability and Personal Development including subjects such as Effective Skills for Life and Work, Planning for Progression, Applying for a Job, Managing Personal Finance.  You will also have the opportunity to update your Essential Skills qualifications (Communications, Numeracy, ICT). 

Whilst on the programme you will be paid £40 per week.

 
Entry Requirements
You need to be accepted to the relevant Level 1 vocational course.
Where will it take me?
On completion of this course you may progress to employment or onto a Level 2 vocational programme.
 
 
How will it make me more employable?
This programme will give you additional skills to your Level 1 vocational qualification and will also allow you to improve your Communication, Numeracy and ICT skills.  All of which improve your chances of obtaining employment.
 
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
For the most part assessment is via portfolio of work.
