Photovoltaic (PV) Training and Assessment

This qualification is primarily aimed at fully qualified electricians (with 17th Edition).

Course Overview
This qualification is primarily aimed at fully qualified electricians (with 17th Edition). Non-electrically competent persons are welcome, provided they have a vested interest in solar PV systems.
The programme covers all the information needed to install, design, maintain and commission solar PV systems, including:
  • Market and environmental background
  • Solar PV technology
  • Site survey
  • System design and specification
  • AC & DC systems
  • Health & safety
  • Regulations
  • Installation
  • Commissioning
Entry Requirements
17th edition electrical qualification. You need to be qualified in the Electrical industry, however more those with more experience and no qualifications can discuss this with the tutor during a professional discussion.
Where will it take me?
On successful completion candidates gain a BPEC certificate (MCS accreditation will still require the inspection of the candidate’s first PV installation). A certificate of attendance will be awarded to non-electrically competent persons.
How will it make me more employable?
This course provides you with the skills required to branch out into Solar technology which is becoming more and more popular in todays society.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
Assessment will be both practical and theory based.
