Course Overview
This 2 year course will enable you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment within the motor industry as an Apprentice vehicle mechanic/technician. You will achieve all the Level 2 outcomes required to match the occupational framework.
 
Modules may include:
 
• Vehicle maintenance
 • Workshop practical skills
 • Vehicle inspection
 • Workplace health and safety
 
You will also have the opportunity to participate in the Young Enterprise NI programme which will develop your employability skills and help you explore the idea of starting your own business.
 
 
Entry Requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE's, to include grade D or above in English, Maths and either Science or Technology.

You must be 16 by the end of June but no older than 18.

You will be required to complete Essential Skills Literacy, Numeracy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C or Level 2 Essential Skill in English, Maths or IT.

Where will it take me?

The Skills for Work course will provide you with relevant training in Light vehicle that can lead directly to an NVQ Level 3 qualification and a career within the Motor industry.

If you secure employment during the programme you can move directly into the Apprenticeship at Level 2.

How will it make me more employable?
This course can give you the qualifications which will improve your job opportunities. You will complete modules in Employability and Personal Development
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
You will be assessed with a range of practical tasks and multiple choice tests (online).
