Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma In Travel And Tourism

This programme provides you with the knowledge of different components within the sectors of the Travel and Tourism industry

Course Overview
This 1 year course is the equivalent to 2 AS Levels and enables you to learn about the different component sectors of the Travel and Tourism industry including tour operations, accommodation and visitor attraction. As part of the course students will take part in industry-related visits as part of their assignment work to local providers as well as having the opportunity to undertake a residential study visit.
You will also work towards a Personal Development qualification and will be involved in a range of activities, designed to improve employability.

• Preparing for Employment in Travel and Tourism

Entry Requirements
A minimum of 4 GCSE passes at Grade C, to include a Grade C English and Maths (or equivalent)
You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and IT if you do not have a GCSE Grade C in English, Maths and IT. You will have the opportunity to participate in an enterprise programme.
Where will it take me?
Successful completion of this course will lead directly onto further study on the 1 year Level 3 Diploma (top-up), which upon completion will be the equivalent to 2 A Levels.
Alternatively the course can also lead directly into a career in the airline industry, event management, within the cruise sector, marketing, as a resort representatives or in a travel agents. Further study at a higher level may lead to jobs such as management positions in the Travel and Tourism Industry.
How will it make me more employable?
This course will provide you with the skills necessary to find employment as cabin crew, events manager as travel agent or resort representative.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
You will build a portfolio of work containing assignments for each unit.
