Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art & Design


This course provides a progression route to Degree and HNC/HND courses in all areas of Art and Design. The full time course runs for 1 year (min 15 hrs per week) and the Part time course runs for 2 years (8 hrs per week).

Course Overview

This course provides a progression route to Degree and HNC/HND courses in all areas of Art and Design. The full time course runs for 1 year (min 15 hrs per week) 

Modules may include:

  • Unit 1 researching, recording and responding in art and design
  • Unit 2 media experimentation in art and design
  • Unit 3 preparation and progression in art and design
  • Unit 4 information and interpretation in art and design
  • Unit 5 Personal experimental studies  in art and design
  • Unit 6 Extended media development
  • Unit 10 Final Major Project

Ideal If:

You would like to explore and develop a broad range of creative fine art and you would like a progression route to a HNC, HND or Degree level study or self-employment or employment in the creative industries

You'll Learn:

How to research and develop your creative ideas through media experimentation, visual studies in both 2D and 3D. You will also learn how to exhibit to a professional standard.

The art and design studios and equipment available for students.  The chance to work on live briefs and exhibit both internally and externally.Working on internal and external client commissions.

You'll Need:

BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design or an A Level pass at Grade C with 4 GCSEs Grade to include English. You must also have a portfolio of work displaying an interest and ability in art.
