Level 3 Extended Diploma Performing Arts

This project driven vocational Performing Arts course has been designed for aspiring performers to develop skills in Acting, Dance, Devising and Technical Theatre etc

Course Overview
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts is a one-year top-up programme. On completion the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts is equivalent to 3 A levels.  With the emphasis on live performance students develop both practical and theoretical skills through study of a variety of units.
Units studied include:
Film and TV Acting
Performance Workshop
Jazz dance
Rehearsal for Performance
Lighting Operations
Audio Performance Acting
Historical Context of Performance
Dance Performance

You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C in English, Mathematics and ICT.

Entry Requirements
A team of specialist course tutors interviews every applicant for this course.
You will need 4 GCSE passes at grade C or above and a 90-Credit Diploma in Performing Arts
We are also looking for a degree of potential that can be developed, as well as a real interest in and commitment to the art of performance.

Where will it take me?
There are very good progression opportunities to University and specialist colleges.  Alternatively further study on our Higher National Diploma (HND) in Performing Arts can lead to a career in acting, producing, teaching or arts management.
How will it make me more employable?
As well as gaining a recognised qualification you will take part in employability skills workshops and gain skills in teamwork, commitment, IT and problem solving.  You will also have the opportunity to become a member of The Glass Umbrella Theatre Company.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
You will be assessed throughout the year on: performances, individual and group work, research and evaluations.  Each unit will have a number of assignments that will be graded at distinction, merit and pass level
