Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care

This course can lead directly to careers in care establishments and nursing assistants or in the health and care field.

Course Overview
In this top up course you will study 9 mandatory units and optional units.  Examples of the units include:
  • Health Psychology
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Diversity and Rights
  • Health Promotion
Work placement in either a care or health setting is an integral part of the course.  
Important Information on the Full Fee - Please note that this fee is the 1st year only.  Fees will apply for each year of a course.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at Grade C or higher to include either GCSE Maths or English at Grade C.
BTEC First Diploma in Early Years at Merit/Distinction level.
And successful completion of the 60 credit subsidiary diploma in Health and Social Care.
As you will be working with young children or vulnerable adults a police check will be conducted.
Where will it take me?
This course can lead directly to careers in care establishments and nursing assistants or in the health and care field.  Alternatively study at higher level is an option.
How will it make me more employable?
As well as gaining a recognised qualification you will complete a number of work placements, take part in employability skills workshops such as team work, commitment, IT and problem solving.  The careers education programme is an integral part of this course which will equip you with the knowledge to make informed career decisions.  The vocational component of the course is central and held in high regard when gaining access to university.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
You will be assessed through course work and continual assessment.
