Course Overview

This 3 unit is suitable as a knowledge based introduction to teaching/training.

 Modules may include:

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training

  • Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training

  • Understanding the principles and practices of assessment

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements.  Candidates are required to have evidence of Level 3 vocational skills for the area in which they wish to teach/train if they are to progress into teaching in the further education and skills sector.

The course can lead to a career within the education and training sector*
This qualification does not fulfil the criteria required to teach in the further education sector in Northern Ireland, as set by DEL.  It is not a teaching qualification - it is an introduction to teaching.

This course will provide you with an introduction to teaching and training and develop the skills and knowledge required to progress to a career within the sector.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
The qualification will be assessed by a combination of assignments and observation of teaching or training.
