Level 2 in Garden Design

This course aims to give an understanding of the design process, to develop basic drawing skills and to produce garden and planting plans.

Course Overview
This course aims to give an understanding of the design process, to develop basic drawing skills and to produce garden and planting plans.

It will give the student knowledge and understanding of plant and soil science relevant to garden design, along with plant identification, selection and care criteria as they relate to garden design.
Important Information on the Full Fee  – Please note that this fee is for the 1st year only. Fees will apply for each year of a course.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. This course is suitable if you have an interest in garden design.
Where will it take me?
You may progress to an NOCN Level 2 Certificate in ‘How to be a Gardner’ or the RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture.
How will it make me more employable?
Students may progress to other courses within the college, or use the skills gained in their own gardens or in commercial situations.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
Assessment is carried out on an on-going basis by the tutor with students completing a portfolio of work during their course.  There is no formal examination although students’ portfolios will be internally and externally moderated.
