Course Overview
Modules may include:
• Maintain Animal Health and Welfare
• Introduction to the Principles and Practices of Animal
  Behaviour and Handling
• Introduction to Animal Breeds and Grooming

 
Entry Requirements
 A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade C or above, or equivalent or proven animal industry experience.
 

This course will require an interview

Successful candidates will have to provide evidence of an up-to-date Tetanus Vaccination.

This course meets the needs of the animal care industry and enables you to gain the skills and knowledge to seek employment within the sector.

This course gives a basic knowledge of animal health, handling, husbandry, development and behaviour.

 
How will it make me more employable?
The first certificate in Animal Care meets the needs of the animal care industry and enables you to gain the skills and knowledge to seek employment within the sector. This is a recognised accredited course equivalent to 2 GCSE grades A* to C.
 
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
Assessment is continuous throughout the course with a combination of written assignments,presentations, practical tasks and observation of working practices. No exams are involved.
