Course Overview

This course will provide you with the necessary skills required for 2D Computer Aided Drafting. A good course recommended for beginners.

Subjects studied will be:

  • Production of a variety of drawings for graphic design, architecture and engineering
  • Editing existing drawings
  • Creation and use of blocks in the creation of custom libraries
  • Plotting drawings to scale


Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however it is useful if you have basic knowledge of ICT.
Where will it take me?

Successful completion of the course will enable you to progress to further 3D/advanced CAD courses e.g. SketchUp Pro.

How will it make me more employable?

This course is the starting point for anyone interested in Computer Aided Design. Students will be able to produce accurate 2D scale drawings.

This course is relevant to the Construction, Engineering and Manufacturing Industries.

2 Practical examinations, a multiple choice test & a log/portfolio of knowledge gained.
