Level 1 Award in Basic Make-Up Application

This is an introductory level course and will cover the basics of make-up application including day make-up, fashion trends and special occasion make-up

Course Overview
This part-time evening course is an introduction to basic make-up application which will include day make-up, evening make-up and special occasion make-up.  The course will also include health and safety and different make-up terminology.
Entry Requirements

You can purchase complete make-up kits and then purchase skincare and brushes separately or purchase individual items to make your own.  

Basic suggested kit items will include face, eye and lip brushes, foundations, concealer, eyeshadow, brow and eye products, eyeliner, blusher, bronzer, lip products- liner, lipstick and gloss. You are not expected to have this for the first night of the class as the tutor will go through the suggested kit list.

You will also need a uniform consisting of black trousers, black T shirt and black cardigan. Black flat shoes are essential.

Where will it take me?
Completion could lead to a Level 2 Beauty course or courses in Nail Enhancements for example.
How will it make me more employable?
On successful completion of the course you will gain a Level 1 VTCT qualification.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
Through practical assessment of your make-up skills
During the course you will complete a portfolio of evidence. This will contain before and after photographs of you work.
Additional Costs
Make-up kit for use at home and in College is required and will cost approximately £80.
